Ο Κώστας Φιλιπππιδης πέρασε με την 3η προσπάθεια τα 5,65 που τελικά του έδωσε την 4η θέση στον τελικό του παγκοσμίου πρωταθλήματος! Ο Αυστραλός Hooker ξεκίνησε απο τα 5,70 και μετά πέρασε και τα 5,80 που αρκούσαν για τη νίκη, πέρασε όμως και τα 6,01 πετυχαίνοντας μια πολύ σπουδαία επίδοση! Μάλιστα επιχείρησε να καταρρίψει και το ρεκορ του Bubka βάζοντας στα 6,16. Ο Γερμανός Mohr με 5,70 ήταν 2ος, ενώ 3ος ήταν ο άλλος Γερμανός, ο Straub, με 5,65 αλλα με την 1η προσπάθεια -κι έτσι πήρε καλύτερη κατάταξη απο Φιλιππίδη και Miles.

Never one to be bested by a game of passes, Steven Hooker required just three jumps to win the World Championships title in Berlin. He qualified for the men's Pole Vault final on Friday with one attempt, but unlike in Berlin, Hooker is uninjured here in Doha, and he's more likely to keep raising the bar until there's nobody left to stop him.
